I'm pretty sure I bought this when it first came out as evidenced by this early pressing however this record has a bit of an odd story. I remember having a party and someone put this record on and then they dropped the disc when they were changing the record. This was probably about 35 years ago and I still remember being pretty bummed out about it. Then he shows up later and says he has a nice clean copy to replace the vinyl he dropped. It's a first pressing of The Doors "The Soft Parade."on the red label. He said the jacket was damaged and wanted to make things right. I had forgotten about this whole thing until about a week ago when I pulled this record out and guess what? I found it more funny than anything to do with the accident. So what I have here is pretty much what I've already described. While listing this record I listened to the side with the damage and you can here the pop now and again that becomes more pronounced as the record plays but it just sounds like the record you got stoned to in High School. Plays right through with some noise, no skips. The second record The Soft Parade is a pretty nice copy in better shape with a few surface marks, etc...Plays good, no skips...few small pops. The jacket speaks for itself and the numbers match the first mustard colored label copy. Both of these are completely playable and at another party, god forbid, I doubt if anyone would ever notice anything wrong with the sound of either of these discs. Ha! Have at it...not much else to say. Selling off more records slowly and other musical instruments etc... Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I sell all records As-Is with no returns.
