ORIGINAL IMPULSE! 1963 RELEASE
With original inner sleeve.
Both cover and vinyl are in immaculate (Near Mint) condition. No vinyl playback issues.
You will be hard pressed to find an original copy like this in better condition.
  This record has been cleaned with a MW-1 Cyclone RCM and play tested on a Technics SL-D2 with no audible skips and no surface noise.
The cover is stored in a 3 mil sleeve while the record is stored in a protective paper sleeve and both the stored cover and record are packaged in a 4 mil sleeve to top it all off. It doesn't get much more protected than this.
During the final decade and a half of Duke Ellington's life, he become more and more creatively productive. One of the key elements of this was showcasing the progression of his own personal compositional stamp-evolving elements of it to adapt to the new sounds of the decade in which he was creating. Part of this involved willing collaborations with some of the newest musical innovators in jazz. And few were making more abrupt innovations in their instrumental approach to playing in the early 60's than John Coltrane. With Elvin Jones and Sam Woodyard doubling up on drums with Jimmy Garrison and Aaron Bell doing the same on bass this album proved that Ellington's interest in recording with Coltrane was in fact ingenious.
