Description

While in college in the late 1960s I worked for progressive rock station WZMF (Milwaukee). One day the local Elektra Records label rep walked in to the radio station with a new album. This was it. The fourth album by the Holy Modal Rounders was titled "The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders". Released by Elektra Records in 1968 the album was definitely something WZMF could play. As with many stations we loved the opening track: "Bird Song". That track was also used in the 1969 film "Easy Rider", starring Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda.
This album is the promotional copy I received from the Elektra Records rep in 1968. It has a "Promotion Copy Not For Sale" sticker on the front cover (upper right). The labels on each vinyl side are white and show "Promotion Preview Copy" and "Not For Sale". This is NOT a reissue. This album has been in my collection for more than 50 years, and I have not played this vinyl copy since the late 1960s.
