Description

The revival of Folk Music that began in the mid-20th Century ("Contemporary Folk Music") has had a profound and continuing effect on the Development and History of Recorded Music. It came at the same time (early 1950's) that the new innovation in recording technology began its transition to the 33 ⅓ RPM Vinyl "Long Play", and away from its earliest form of 78 RPM shellac.

Much of the newer music forms that followed had "roots" in these poetic melodies. The emotions stirred with the tales telling of melancholy, folklore, custom, and cultural identity provide continuity to the lyrical processes of our nation's oral traditions.

Stinson Records, Folkways Records and Elektra  were among the standout organizations in the recording
and manufacturing of these national treasures.

THE VINYL : EXCELLENT +

EX+ : This beautiful record is lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear (please see close up photos of the labels). Both sides of the LP surface retain all of their original gloss. 
 
Present is some light sleevewear from the original paper inner sleeve, and a few shallow hairline marks that are cosmetic and will likely produce no or minimal audio interference. 
 
Bright, undamaged, Green and Black Prestige Folklore Records Labels (please see photos).
 
The Record shows exceptional care and handling. 





THE COVER : EXCELLENT +

EX+ :  Please see the photos in our Gallery / well-stored with some minor scuffing / bright colors / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact / aside from "11/69" written in ink on the back cover, there is no writing, paper loss, paper tears, dirt, or stains.



We have placed the record and the cover into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
