Description

Mme. Adelina Patti (1843-1919) sings "The Last Rose of Summer" on

an original (first-pressing) Victor "Patti" Record 95030.

She is accompanied by Landon Ronald on piano.

Although officially retired, she recorded this and 13 other selections

in December of 1905. A recording team from HMV went to her home in

Wales. Patti was 62 years old at the time, but her name was still

dynamite to the public, and U.S. Victor issued 6 of the 14 selections

on a special "Patti" Red Seal label. The distinctive label disappeared in

1908 when Victor introduced the "Patents" label, and the six records

previously issued by Patti took on the more common label.

This historic record is in excellent-minus (E-) condition. The label

itself is in nice condition.

Note-the label is nicer than my photo depicts. With a minimum of

contrast on Red Seal records, it is tough for me to get a decent

picture with my camera.
