Description

An original first pressing vinyl LP album copy of The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd (1973), Harvest Records, Gatefold, new inner paper sleeve. Catalog# SMAS-11163. The jacket is in VG (Very Good) condition. No major rips, tears, or deep creases. There is corner wear, a bit of edge wear. Slight spine wear, and Sharpie marker written on the front. Very minor ring wear. A couple of creases mostly near the spine area. The vinyl record is in VG condition with a few light marks/light scratches on each side. Both the inner labels are clean with a few light spindle marks. I haven't test played the album, but I can if you are interested in bidding on it. I will give you my honest feedback. The album was originally released back on March 1, 1973. A concept album, The Dark Side of the Moon explores themes such as conflict, greed, time, death and mental illness. Snippets from interviews with the band's road crew are featured alongside philosophical quotations. The sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgenson in response to keyboardist Richard Wright's request for a "simple and bold" design, representing the band's lighting and the album's themes. The album was promoted with two singles: "Money" and "Us and Them". It went to #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Sales in the United States were 8, 360,000, and it has sold 45 million copies worldwide.
