Description
A very nice first pressing Pitman Pressing vinyl, LP, album copy of Aja by Steely Dan (1977), ABC Records, Catalog# AA-1006, Gatefold. LP jacket: In VG+ (almost closer to EX) condition with no major rips, or tears. There is a creased area in the upper right hand corner. Minor corner wear. Nice cardboard glossy gatefold jacket. Very nice printed cardstock inner sleeve with lyrics and credits. The vinyl LP looks beautiful! Really nice high gloss and shine! I saw a couple of very light play marks when I held it to a light source. It is in VG++ condition. Both of the inner labels are clean and complete with light spindle marks.
About Aja: This is the sixth studio album by Steely Dan (basically Donald Fagen - born January 10, 1948 and Walter Becker - February 20, 1950-September 3, 2017). Bandleaders Fagen and Becker alongside some 40 musicians pushed the musical boundaries of Steely Dan further into experimenting with different combinations of session players while pursuing longer, more sophisticated compositions for the album.
The album peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200 chart and ultimately became Steely Dan's most commercial album. It spawned three hit singles: "Josie", "Peg", and Deacon Blues". The album went onto to sell 2 million copies and be certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Some notable musicians that played on this record are: Wayne Shorter- tenor saxophone, Timothy B. Schmit (of Eagles fame) - backing vocals, Denny Dias, Larry Carlton, and Lee Ritenour on gutiars, Bernard Purdie and Jim Keltner on drums just to name a few.
