Description
Hi All, its been some time since I put a few records up for auction, however, I have my eye set on one of those recently issued George Harrison Gretsch’s so the thinning out of my collection has been resurrected to fund the latest itch. I’ve sorted out a few choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting. OK for your consideration we have:
Title: THEM AGAIN By THEM
Cat No: LK 4751 - mono
Matrix No: ARL-7085-1B / 7086-1B
Issue: Original 1966 issue on the Unboxed Red DECCA Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as EX; the vinyl has retained most of its gloss and deep sheen. The disc is very clean and showing only the minimum of careful handling. There are no notable scratches or marks to the vinyl to report, just some very light and mild surface marks commensurate with age and grade. All in all, this is a smart copy of this highly desirable album.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The playback grades as EX; almost but not quite totally silent at the run-ins, and between the tracks. Some very occasional and low level/mild clicks/pops during play-back– but these are hardly detectable even with headphones on. Aside from this, the playback is EX and the music is delivered superbly. The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable.
Label Condition: Ex; just look at the pics. Just a few very light spindle marks other than that there is no damage or other unwanted blemishes at all to the labels. The silver script is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The front cover Grades as EX+; the laminated front is clean and undamaged and has retained its shape very well. The central image is clear and the lamination is excellent and intact. There is a very small No 37 sticker top right inside the DECCA box, other than that there are no notable creases/splits whatsoever to report. All edges are secure; overall an excellent example of this very delicate sleeve. To be honest, in terms of the front, I’ve not seen better.
Cover Back: EX; the unlaminated back is in EX+ condition being superbly clean and damage free. Despite being unlaminated there is very little in the way of age related wear showing – it’s a stunner. In fact the white areas are very clean and I have no hesitation in grading it a strong EX.
Spine: EX; the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover. It has retained its square shape and all the text is very legible and clear. Pinched corners in EX shape and well defined.
Corners: EX; retaining square edges.
Inserts/Other: nil
Summary: This is a stunner, a real beauty and one that I’ve owned and cherished for many years. Good stuff like this, in this condition, doesn’t present itself too often and it’s certainly going to get more difficult to find it in the future. You truly do not come across LPs by THEM in good shape too often and believe me this copy is superb. So here’s your chance to grab a fab copy of a fab album. With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
What’s the order - is it ‘the Pretties, THEM, the Stones or is it THEM, the Stones, the Pretties – I can give myself the hump deliberating this!!!
