This listing includes two very unique and rare versions of the album "Reborn" by the singer Orion. First, you get a used autographed copy of the controversial and extremely rare original "Reborn" album cover that was deemed too insensitive because of an image of an Elvis like person in a casket (the album coming out a year after the King of Rock and Roll's death). After complaints from the Presley family, Sun Records chose to remove it from distribution and replace it with a picture of Orion and blue background. This listing also includes a brand new sealed copy of this replacement "Reborn" album (SUN - 1012). It is a "Collector's Edition, Special Gold Vinyl" album. I received these albums from a friend who knew the singer well and often had him in their home.
"Orion" was a unique singer (actually named Jimmy Ellis). Although tragically killed during a robbery in 1998, he has recently gained new attention because of a popular documentary "Orion: The Man Who Would Be King." His voice is remarkable and sounds so much like Elvis its amazing. After Elvis died, he adopted the stage name "Orion" and gained a tremendous following among Presley devotees who optimistically clung to a fantasy the King was not really dead. I obtained them from friends who were fans and friends of Jimmy "Orion" Ellis. He visited their home often and they went to numerous concerts.
