Description

This is an extremely rare recording of the actual radio broadcast from Oct. 30th, 1938 of HG Wells story "War of the Worlds" (Howard Koch script) read by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre On the Air. It was so convincing that many people thought it was real and went into panic mode across much of the nation. Thankfully no one died but there were some injuries. Orson Welles has an amazing voice and lots of people were convinced it was a real invasion from outer space! Evolution Label, Stereo 4001.
