You are bidding on a comprehensive, sixty-track retrospective which chronicles the work of legendary soul singer Otis Redding.  The set includes four LPs and booklet housed in a sturdy box.  The booklet features an extensive essay by journalist/musicologist Rob Bowman, who assesses every track of the collection relating each to Redding’s life and career.  Even before his untimely death in 1967, Otis Redding was achieving legendary status as a gifted, powerful singer and performer.  He died a mere three days after the recording of his signature hit “(Sittin’ on the) Dock of the Bay.”  The song went on to top both the R&B and Pop charts upon its release in January of 1968, making the late Otis Redding an instant international sensation.

Visual Grading:  VG++/VG++

The vinyl in this set appears to have been played very rarely and is clean and free of scratches and sleeve scuffing.  The box is very good to near mint with only minor wear on the front cover which has maintained its original gloss.  There is a small dent (roughly ¾ of an inch) on the back of the box and very slight corner wear.  The four record sleeves are all original and slightly discolored with age.  Each is imprinted with the Atlantic Records logo.
