Description

Original UK Atlantic red & plum label stereo press LP.

The fourth Otis Redding album recorded in late 1965 and released in April 1966. The album features Booker T & the MG's and the Mar-Keys as the backing/studio band, with Issac Hayes providing arrangements. The album features many slower numbers and would be followed later in that year by The Otis Redding Dictionary Of Soul, after his tour of the UK.

This is the original 1966 press, with the second label variation, with the MCPS credits and the A//2 B//2 matrices and 1-1-8 1-1-8 stampers of the later first presses.
The Ernest J. Day Group Ltd front laminated sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some edge/corner wear and some light laminate rubbing and creasing on the outer cover, with some rubbing on the rear cover. The spine is intact, but worn and no longer readable, the plain inner is intact & is in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings and the record retains all its original shine.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall a really great, loud & clear listen!   The matrix nos. are; 587011, A//2 stamper 1-1-8, B//2 stamper 1-1-8. This is one of the early copies of the 1st press of the original 1966 UK mono issue of this album!
