Description
For sale is a very nice copy of Wagner's Die Walkure with Otto Klemperer conducting the New Philharmonia Orchestra, Angel box set SBLX-3797. The box is very nice other than a two hold cutout punch in the upper right corner that goes all the way through the box and book. The book is otherwise perfect, 16 pages with lyrics and history of the recording and great pictures. The vinyl couldn't look much cleaner and plays nearly perfectly, really a stellar looking copy of the strong side of EX visually. Also Includes a beautiful copy of the box set "Bruckner Symphony NO. 7 in E Minor/Wagner Siegfried Idyll," with Otto Klemperer conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra, Angel stereo 3626B. The box is very nice visually but does has a cutout hole upper right, and the black tape on the box is no longer connected, so the top of the box simply sits in place with the bottom. The book is four pages and has about half of the cutout hole at the top since it isn't quite as tall as the outer box. The vinyl is stellar, clean and shiny, with only a couple of the smallest imperfections in bright light at an angle, and it really plays with no noise at all that I heard, and I listened start to finish. Finally is a very nice copy of the rare stereo US pressing of Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 in E Minor, with Otto Klemperer conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra; Angel Stereo LP #36141 from 1963. The vinyl couldn't be much nicer, visually it is close to perfect, and I hear maybe a couple of very light ticks at most throughout, very clean and like new sounding. The jacket is also quite nice from the front view, the main picture is beautiful. There is a tiny punch hole in the lower right corner, a bit of wear along the bottom border, ring on the back at the bottom, and a very small price written on the back lower right. The spine is perfect, nice clean white lettering on the red border style edge (i.e. that isn't tape on the left edge, that is part of the spine). I think the pictures capture this pretty well, great sounding LP with a few minor flaws to the cover that still looks pretty nice overall.
