Description
Super, early pressing of this selection of French overtures from Paul Paray and the Detroit Symphony issued in 1959 on the Mercury Olympian series no. AMS 16013. Stampers are 1G and 1G. This, like my other listed Mercurys is the British issue. There are some light surface marks which barely affect the lovely sound-quality so I grade this EX. vinyl. It comes in a Garrod & Lofthouse heavy card sleeve that is nice and flat and free from tears or creasing. There is some acceptable grubbiness on the unlaminated part of the rear-cover, and a very small patch of de-lamination at the upper rear fold-back. The original heavy paper poly-lined inner is excellent. This is a great example for your collection.
This is part of a large personal collection of 1950s,1960s and early 1970s Classical LPs I am disposing of; most in excellent or better condition; including several rarities, mainly Decca SXLs, EMI ASDs, Angel, and Mercury Living Presence Stereo: Furtwangler, Kertesz, Oistrakh, Beecham etc. I am happy to receive wants lists if there is something you are particularly looking for.
I will be listing numbers of them individually throughout the next two weeks or so. So please review my other listings from time to time. All must go and are sold without reserve.
I grade according to Record Collector Magazine standards and I think you will like these recordings as much as I do; but if you don't, and you are not completely satisfied then everything is returnable.
I will give postal discounts for multiple purchases and I am happy to ship anywhere in the world. please contact me for a quote if you are bidding from outside the UK.
