Beschreibung: The Years of Decay zeigt Overkill in einer stabilen Phase ihrer Karriere. Die Band spielt schnellen, kraftvollen Thrash Metal mit klaren Riffs, treibendem Schlagzeug und markantem Gesang.
Songs wie der Titelsong The Years of Decay oder Elimination sind typisch für den Stil der Band: energisch, direkt und gut strukturiert. Auch längere Stücke wie Nothing to Die For bieten Abwechslung durch langsamere Passagen, ohne die Härte zu verlieren.
Die Produktion ist sauber, die Instrumente klar getrennt, was den Songs einen druckvollen, aber natürlichen Klang gibt. Insgesamt ist The Years of Decay ein solides Album, das die Stärken von Overkill gut präsentiert, ohne Experimente oder Schnickschnack.
