Overkill- s/t 4 track MLP Azra/Metal Storm Records 1985 MS2851: Offered here is the debut vinyl release from NJ/NY thrash pioneers Overkill. The story goes that the band were so dissatisfied with the amount of time it took for this to hit the racks, that they had signed to Megaforce Records for their debut full-length in the interim, and were no longer interested in promoting it by the time it was eventually available. All that notwithstanding, this is still a fantastic ep and testimony to just how exceptional of a band they were right out of the gate. Three of the four tracks here would go on to be re-recorded for “Feel The Fire”, while the Sabbath-inspired “The Answer” would remain a fan-favorite rarity. Limited to 3000 and never repressed, this copy is in fantastic archive condition with barely played vinyl, and a jacket with one small smudge over the V in Overkill being its’ only visible flaw.
