Overtures in Hi-Fi Albert Wolff UK Decca SXL 2008 WBG
On “Overtures in Hi-Fi”, the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra conducted by Albert Wolff performs Overtures by Adam (“Si je’tais roi”), Auber’s “Le Domino Noir”, Herold’s “Zampa”, and others by Reznicek, Suppe and Nicolai. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2008), the labels are black with Original recording by … at 10 o’clock and a full frequency stereophonic sound “fatband” and logo with a groove. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise – the recording is spectacular. The cover laminate has rubbed with a ring and the back is slightly grubby.
