Another from my personal collection of over 50,00 Uk albums that I have collected over a period of 45 years or more!. This is an early original 1st UK pressing of Ozzy Obournes third studio album "Bark At The Moon" released in 1983 on the Epic labels in the UK.  It has always been stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records. Visually the vinyl looks barely ever played in my opinion. I struggle to see no more than a handful of spider traces certainly no more than hand full of spider traces if that around the spindle hole. No needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops just beautiful near perfect sound quality and fantastic bassey feel and separation only heard like this on the earliest pressings. Please listen to the recording in the player below. I would grade the audio at Near Mint throughout in my opinion. I don't think that you weill find a better sounding vinyl! No loud constant clicks, ticks or pops, silent in between tracks. The Most vibrant copy that I have heard truly amazing!
This is complete with the original picture/ lyric insert record sleeve and  Shorewood packaging Press printed, original ist issue un laminated cover is also in top condition throughout and I think that you would struggle to find a better copy of this cover in my opinion!
For me the audio quality has always been my prime interest with vinyl. Audio graded at Near Mint in my opinion!  Early 1st UK pressing!

Bark at the Moon is the third studio album by British heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, originally released on 15 November 1983.



The album features former Mickey Ratt and Rough Cutt guitarist Jake E. Lee, who replaced guitarist Randy Rhoads who had been killed a year earlier in a plane crash.




The album peaked at number 19 on the Billboard album chart and within several weeks of release was certified Gold for over 500,000 sales in the United States.


To date, it has sold over 3,000,000 copies in the US In the UK, it was the third of four Osbourne albums to attain Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in January 1984. The album was remastered on CD in 1995 and again (with a different mix) in 2002. This is the first album to feature guitarist Jake E. Lee and the only studio album to feature drummer Tommy Aldridge.




Bark at the Moon is the only Ozzy Osbourne album on which the songwriting is credited entirely to Osbourne.




However, guitarist Jake E. Lee maintains that he composed a significant amount of the album’s music but was cheated out of his writing and publishing claims by Osbourne’s wife and manager Sharon.






Lee claims that after he had composed the songs and completed recording his parts in the studio, he was presented with a contract which stated that he would have no claim to any writing or publishing relating to the album. The contract also stated that Lee could not mention this publicly.





Lee claims he signed the contract because he had no legal representation and because Sharon threatened to fire him and have another guitarist re-record his parts if he refused





Osbourne himself admitted several years later in the liner notes to The Ozzman Cometh that Lee had been involved in the album's writing to at least some degree, stating that the album's title track was in fact co-written by the guitarist.




Osbourne's bassist at the time, Bob Daisley, has mirrored Lee's account of the album's production, stating that he co-wrote most of the music with Lee and wrote the vast majority of the lyrics.



Daisley has stated that he accepted a buyout from Osbourne in exchange for writing credit. Osbourne's former drummer Lee Kerslake, who also played with Daisley in Uriah Heep after leaving Osbourne's band, stated that Daisley had been hired by Sharon Osbourne to write the Bark at the Moon album for "$50–60,000 or whatever it is. He was offered the chance to write with Ozzy. Words, music – write the album."

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this looks almost as un played in my opinion. I find it hard to even see a blemish on the playing surface, any that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal scuffs only. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Importantly, there are no visual marks that would cause any loud constant clicks/ticks or pops during the play of this vinyl.

The Audio Quality
I have play tested the vinyl two times on two different turntables/systems at very loud volume prior to this listing. Once for you to hear the complete album. (Can be heard in the player above)
The moment that the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious to me that this has barely ever been played at all. Crystal clear and vibrant stunning top audio throughout the play of this vinyl.   I would grade the audio at Near Mint!

Please note! Allowances must be made for these mid eighties pressings. They are notorious for static ticks/crackle in quieter places. I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static type crackle/ticks that might be noticed in quieter places, but not consistent through out the audio. Debrit was noted on the playing surface after play. A constant clean before each play is recommended because this vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 30 years. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks/ crackle. constant cleaning before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality.
 
The Labels
These are the original 1st UK issue Epic labels Barely a couple of spider marks can be seen angled to the light on one side onlt in my opinion,  This has barely ever been played in my personal opinion!. There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round.

The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issue flimsy paper picture/lyric record sleeve. This is straight and generally clean with light creasing only.  There are no edge splits or tears. The vinyl is always stored separately from the vinyl. This is how I have always stored my records.

The Cover
This is the original 1st UK issue Un laminated cover. Printed by Shorewood Packaging. (no barcode) Super clean and straight. No nasty creases to report and any storage wear is only really noticed if looked for in my opinion. Any edge rubbing is very slight only and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion. Note; A minor and small rub mark noted at the opening edge on the back only. The spine has absolutely no rubbing. Only if looked at angled to the light are very very minor indents seen on the front only. Rich and very vibrant colours. I would grade this cover at least excellent plus in my opinion, a real beauty.
