Legendary rare ozzy "black sabbatical"
Singer / songwriter Chris Sedgwick was a close friend of Ozzy Osbourne back in the mid-70's.
He asked Ozzy to sing backing vocals on this cover of the Animals hit song – Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. The piano is very prominent in Sedgwick's arrangement. Ozzy's backing parts are mixed up high to show off his distinctive singing. A very interesting track !
The B-side of the single was "Have You Ever Been Loved". It was recorded for Birmingham Free Music, which was an independent label. The backing tracks were recorded with the help of other local musicians. Some of these 45-singles were distributed to local pubs in Birmingham to be played in their jukeboxes. Only 100 copies were pressed and the majority of these were accidentally destroyed in a fire? Needless to say, this track remains extremely rare.
