American soul singer Patricia Ann Cole (known professionally as P. P. Arnold) enjoyed considerably more success in the United Kingdom than in the U.S. than in the U.K. (She was one of the Ikettes with Ike & Tina Turner but quit the band while on tour in the UK in order to remain in London and establish a solo career, with the encouragement of Mick Jagger. She toured with the Small Faces during 1967-68, made several TV appearances with them, and featured as backing vocalist on two of their biggest hits, "Itchycoo Park" and "Tin Soldier". It's no wonder that Kafunta, her second solo album was produced by the Rolling Stones then-manager, Andrew Loog Oldham. (One song, "Angel of the Morning" was arranged by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones.) Original copies of this record are scarce and expensive, but you probably already know that.
