PAGANINI / KOGAN / BRUCK / ORCHESTRE DE LA SOCIETE DES CONCERTS DU CONSERVATOIRE - " VIOLIN CONCERTO NO.1 / CANTABILE IN D MAJOR ", Columbia Records (33CX 1562) Mono, 1958.

Very rare, English 1st issue of the rare Kogan/Paganini LP from '58.

Only ever issued in Mono, this first issue can be regonised by it's dark blue and gold label design and it's front and back laminated, scalloped flip-back sleeve.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and put in a new poly-lined inner sleeve (original inner retained for this auction - see photo)


CONDITION:

VINYL  =  EXCELLENT (No scratches, groove damage, excessive surface noise, distortion, etc. Clean labels with only very light spindle trails. In daylight it looks perfectly clean, but a bright grading lamp reveals a few very faint paper scuffs and barely visible hairline marks, mostly just from the record going in and out of the inner sleeve - as you would expect, these do not sound on playback. Plays very well indeed - strong, clear and without interruption from loud clicks and crackles, etc... There's a minute amount of surface noise in the pressing during the silent run-in, but once the music starts, it disappears and plays strong and clear without interuptions. No signs of the dullness or very slight distortion to the sound that now seems to be plagueing many 50s LPs - a sure sign it has not been over-played or played on inferior equipment. Clearly only had light use in it's lifetime and has been very well cared for.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)



SLEEVE =  V.G.+ (No creases, rips, tears, heavy ringwear, defacing, etc. In good secondhand condition - there is some wear to the edges and corners, plus some smaller creases eminating from the edges of the sleeve. Some of these have cause very small amounts of delamination to start  - see photos for further clarification)
