PANACHE - ISSUE #9 (UK, STAINES, MIDDX. - 1978) - ORIGINAL & COMPLETE PUNK FANZINE WITH ORIGINAL LETTER TO JOHN PEEL BY EDITOR MICK MERCER (FROM JOHN PEEL'S COLLECTION). Original & scarce issue of a great UK fanzine from the early punk era with some great features on early UK punk & new wave. Produced by Mick Mercer is one of the best fanzines of the era which lasted many issues from 1977 and till the late '80s I think. It comes from John Peel's collection with a letter from Mick ("A Westham Fan") to the DJ ("Peelie, I can't think why I ever send you PANACHE - you never mention us, even though we're good.... still as you get a mention in this issue perhaps you'll make an exception"). The letter was originally attached on the front of the fanzine with a clip (most probably by John Peel to keep them together - see picture 2) and it remains exactly as it was. The last 4 pages were torn-off the fanzine and loose (I guess due to some careless handling) so have been carefully repaired and put back in place. Luckily no page is missing, I have checked it with my other copy and I can verify that it is complete.
