I carefully test-play all records on my Linn Sondek with Ortofon MC15 Super cartridge unless listed as MINT.

Playback: EXCELLENT ++ or even NEAR MINT. There is barely so much as a crackle even on the run-in grooves. Superb clear audio throughout.

Vinyl Visual Condition: EXCELLENT. Some evidence of having been slid from its inner sleeve and played, such as the odd light surface mark, but nothing that has any impact on the beautiful playback. Lovely!

Labels: EXCELLENT minus. Minor finger marks and the odd few spidery spindle marks.

Sleeve Condition: EXCELLENT minus. The front-laminated sleeve shows the lightest of scuffing to the laminate. There is very little evidence of edge or corner wear. Unlaminated rear cover has some mild, age-related discolouration. Spine has some light creasing, but is strong, straight and fully legible. See my photos.

Inner sleeve: EX. Plain white inner is in nice, undamaged condition with few signs of use.

Record Collectors Grading system

Mint (M)     The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Un-played should be Mint.

Excellent (EX)      The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)   The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G)     The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
