Description

MAJOR garage sunshine pop rarity from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by the Pandemonium Shadow Show, “Sunshine Summer Day” b/w “Tender is the Girl” on the TEEN TOWN label.  I waited ten years to find this ultra-rare little single, and now I’m passing it on to another lucky collector.  Both sides of this little summer pop gem are fine examples of lush dreamy soft pop heaven – think Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Cryan Shames or the Love Generation for starters.  “Sunshine Summer Day” is as perfect an encapsulation of a carefree sunny afternoon as its title would suggest, yet something very sinister is lurking behind the breezy façade.  Wrestling with the decision to ask out a cute girl on a July afternoon isn’t anything that hasn’t been tackled before in a good pop song, but then there’s this curious line:  “I find that every girl seems to catch my eye.  Seems to move til I start to groove, and then she starts to cry.”  Either this dude’s got some seriously bad dancing skills or maybe secretes some sort of onion-like odor when aroused.  Let’s just hope the title to the flipside, “Tender is the Girl”, isn’t a recipe.  Original late 60’s pressing on the Teen Town label.  Vinyl plays VG++, real nice.

Winning bidder pays  $4.50 for first class shipping plus tracking in the US, $5 air mail to Canada, $6 everywhere else.  Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted.  Please check out my other auctions for more vinyl obscurities, and I will combine shipping costs on multiple wins.
