The debut album ''Lost Paradise'' of the then very young band PARADISE LOST from Halifax in England appeared in 1990 in the course of the first big Death Metal wave and stood out very well. If all other bands wanted to set more and more speed records in the time, made the British fiver in his first steps exactly the opposite and took the foot off the gas. PARADISE LOST had the advantage over many acts of that time, that they did not get entangled in endless chaos-blastbeat passages, but mostly created slow, more threatening sounding songs. ''Lost Paradise'' also shows why PARADISE LOST, together with ANATHEMA & MY DYING BRIDE, were named the big three of doom/death metal. Clattering sound, tends to be slow, even if outbursts were interspersed here and there. The importance of the British for an entire scene can thus hardly be questioned if one is a friend of Doom/Death Metal of the early 90s. The new edition comes in 180g black vinyl with printed inner sleeve.
