Description
PARADYNE Down to Amsterdam / Take Your Time 7" vinyl single release on Airship Records from 1982 (PE134).
You are bidding for an original UK pressing of the incredibly rare NWOBHM single released by Paradyne. This is a copy of the only known release by the Hampshire outfit, which appeared on the local and also highly collectable Airship label. As with all known copies (the handful that have turned up!), this no frills release features the standard Airship label on one side along with a sticker showing the Paradyne logo on the reverse and no sleeve.
Both extended tracks are excellent slices of heavy riffing NWOBHM, which sound like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath era Black Sabbath at times, but which Malc MacMillan compares to Blitzkrieg, Angel Witch and Overkill in his excellent Encyclopedia.
Visually there are some surface marks visible on both sides and a couple of small scuffs across the run in to ‘Take Your Time’ which do cause a faint click during the first 6 or 7 revolutions of the track during play.
Otherwise, the single plays great with nothing more serious than background noise during the run in / out of each side and the occasional click or pop to spoil the full on NWOBHM featured on this brilliant single.
This copy has been a treasured gem in my collection for a number of years, but having been fortunate enough to pick up a second copy recently, I am now able to offer this one for sale - the first to be listed on ebay as far as I am aware!
Although I would only grade this copy as Vg to Vg+, I’m sure it will become an equally treasured addition to a fellow NWOBHM collector’s collection.
