MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Dot “Ultra High Fidelity” Records very first Mono Extended Play press released by Columbia Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1957 by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records, not credited), licensed from Dot Records, Inc., USA, catalog number EPG-5, with machine etched matrix numbers EPG/5/A 6286 in Side 1 and EPG/5/B 6287 in Side 2, with traditional black/silver Dot Records labels, with tricolor “Dot” logo and large center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to tell about this split 4-tracks EP is that it was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE and includes songs by Pat Boone, Jim Lowe, Gale Storm and The Dell-Vikings, released released by Dot Records in USA in 1956 (Pat Boone) and 1957 (the other 3 songs) and we got those songs also released in 1957. Song titles are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters, with additional information about the taxes in Chile, licenses, rights society, original Dot Records catalog number of each song and original price, “$1.200.-”, printed in Side A. It’s interesting to notice that name of the band The Dell-Vikings is misspelled “The DELLVIKINGS” in this Chilean issue!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE SPLIT 4-TRACKS EP including songs by Pat Boone, Jim Lowe, Gale Storm and The Dell-Vikings, ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and with UNIQUE ERROR, a record never seen before and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Pat Boone, Jim Lowe, Gale Storm and The Dell-Vikings and early days of Rock’N’Roll music of the ‘50’s!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean, with loads and loads of scuffs, hairlines and light scratches of all sizes, with a mark of some hard hit which almost broke the record, which could make you think the record won’t play properly, but amazingly they don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear and faint blemishes, hard to see at first sight because of the black color. The sound is in strong VG- or even VG condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant crackles and regular light clicks and pops, which don’t really cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side 1 closer to VG and Side 2 closer to VG-. Overall, for sure this record isn’t for Minty minds or audiophiles, but it’s still a record with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and with a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 62 years, which won’t disappoint any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity this Chilean EP has!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE ERROR and the fact this SPLIT 4-tracks EP was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
