One more of my awesome Vertigo Label Imports I am selling for some lucky vintage vinyl collector to make his assortment of records that much more interesting and hard to get anymore. Imagine when I bought this album in Reno Nevada when I was only 21, yes I am that old! I had earlier bought Patto’s first album at the same store a year earlier and I was amazed by the guitar player’s solos on that album, since I play guitar too, I could relate to how good Ollie Halsall’s playing was. So imagine my delight to see how much better he had gotten in just a year. I think he is one of the best I have ever heard!! If you decide to buy this album, think about what you are getting, an album over fifty years old that was handled with such loving care the record still looks like it did when it was purchased. The Jacket shows some wear even though I was careful with that too, it shows some very minor wear at the corners, and you can barely see the record outline on the cover. The cover is really cool with three strips you can arrange in different ways to get 8 or more characters depending on which strips you use or take away. One other thing I noticed about the Vertigo label inner sleeve is over the years it forms a fine brown color on the edges of the soft plastic, but it is only at the edge and doesn’t affect the look of the beautiful vinyl or the way it sounds. This is my only original copy of this album from 1970 and like an original painting a copy or reissue is not worth what the first one is!
