Description
PATTO - PATTO (self titled)
Lovely copy of this 1970 UK 1st press prog rarity, with brilliant stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1970 UK VERTIGO Swirl Label number : VO 6360016 Matrix numbers : 6360016 1Y//2 420, 6360016 2Y//3 420 Stampers : 1 1 3 / 1 1 4Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - completely flat and retaining a lovely jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as barely marked in normal daylight and it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that a number of extremely fine wispy hairlines and equally faint paper scuff lines come into view on each side (slightly more prevalent on side 1) - certainly nothing feelable and all appearing to be purely superficial (the truly excellent stereo sound quality is testament to this). The labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition - near perfect with the only blemishes being a few very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label - again you will need to look closely under a good light in order to identify them. A solid very good plus (VG+) condition gatefold outer sleeve - firm edges with just a few sporadic and very mild small scuffs on each edge including a little mild scuffing adjacent to the corners, which themselves remain nicely defined right angles with minimal rubbing. The spine is nicely rigid with just a couple of very small "nicks" and all spine text remains perfectly intact and completely legible. There is no cardboard creasing, no unwanted writing, and the opening edges are also firm with no fraying. There is a shop label on the front side at the bottom right corner which appears to be removeable (for me it adds authenticity to the record so why try to remove it?!) and the only other blemishes (each minor) are some light handling/storage marks mostly towards the edges on both the front and back side (do take a close look at my photos) and a couple of small and very minor buckle/crease marks towards the top of the spine interior. What an iconic 70's gatefold sleeve this is, and this copy remains eminently presentable - a strong "very good plus". Truly excellent (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle - hard to fault in fact. Great tone, wonderful clarity and a great listen throughout. Comes with original and correctly dated poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve - excellent (EX) condition with no splits, no edge fraying, no unwanted writing, barely any creasing, and just the merest hint of some very minor age discolouration towards some of the edges. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A lovely copy of this 1970 UK press prog gem - increasingly rare, especially in such impressive condition as this.
