DESCRIPTION

Paul Gonsalves - “Gettin’ Together” Jazzland Records JLP 936S (Stereo) from 1961. Great Jazz Album from Paul Gonsalves on an A1/B1 Stereo Pressing! Along with Gonsalves the band features Nat Adderley, Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones and Jimmy Cobb! This is a slightly later - 1966 or so - pressing on the Maroon with Silver Print Jazzland Stereo label with “Orpheum Productions Inc. New York City” at the bottom of the label.

CONDITION

The Sleeve shows some slight shelf wear and some slight dirtiness on the white parts. There is some slight corner softening. In the back lower right and slightly on the lower half of the spine there is looks to be brown paint or stain that appears to have been brushed on as though someone painted their bookshelf or record cabinet without first removing the records! Doh! Still, very solid and, normally, I would rate it as a VG+ but due to the paint I’m going to say just VG even though it is actually quite minor. The Vinyl itself is in Glossy condition looking like it was probably only played a few times. There are a few light sleeve scuffs and one super light hairline but nothing at all serious. Should rate at least VG+ if not closer to EX. The labels show a couple spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
