PAUL GONSALVES QUARTET "BOOM-JACKIE-BOOM-CHICK", ORIGINAL 1964 UK VOGUE LP, (LAE 587).
THIS IS A SUPERB COPY OF THE EXTREMELY RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER LP FEATURING PAUL GONSALVES WITH A TRIO OF BRITISH JAZZ MUSICIANS, PAT SMYTHE, KENNY NAPPER AND RONNIE STEVENSON.
THIS IS A FANTASTIC COPY, IF IT WASN'T FOR ONE TINY IMPERFECTION IT WOULD BE NEAR MINT, THE ONE TINY PROBLEM IS AN 8MM MARK AT THE BEGINNING OF SIDE TWO, IT LOOKS LIKE A SCUFF CAUSED BY A CARELESS THUMB NAIL. I PLAYED IT WITH A STEREO CARTRIDGE, ONE CHANNEL PLAYED PERFECTLY, THE OTHER HAD SLIGHT INTERMITTENT CLICKS FOR ABOUT 50 SECONDS, AS THIS IS A MONO RECORD THE CHANNELS ARE IDENTICAL SO BY PANNING THE CHANNELS ON YOUR PRE AMP YOU CAN HEAR A PERFECT COPY. OTHER THAN THIS MARK, I CAN BARELY SEE A SINGLE HAIRLINE SCUFF, IT IS CLOSE TO PERFECT! THE LABELS SHOW ONE OR TWO SPINDLE MARKS, I WOULD GUESS THIS SHOWS THAT BEFORE I GOT IT IT HAD BEEN PLAYED ONLY A COUPLE OF TIMES AND I'VE ALSO ONLY PLAYED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES, IT'S A LOVELY RECORD AND PLAYS SUPERBLY!
THE SLEEVE IS VERY CLEAN, ESPECIALLY AFTER FORTY YEARS, HAS ABSOLUTELY NO WRITING ON IT, HAS THE SLIGHTEST OF RING WEAR, A TINY DENT TO THE SPINE AND VERY SLIGHT RAISING OF THE LAMINATE ALONG THE SPINE. PLEASE SEE THE VARIOUS PHOTOS FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION
