Paul McCartney and Wings - ‘Hi Hi Hi / C Moon'. R 5973
I have recently obtained a large collection of UK Apple singles many of which are now listed. They include demo’s, factory sample promo’s, radio station promo’s, Wings Fun Club issues, UK Apple picture sleeve issues and some of the rarer singers. Many are in wonderful EXCELLENT+ condition. Please take a look at my other listings and enjoy.
Paul McCartney and Wings 1972 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'Hi Hi Hi / C Moon' 7” single. Released on the 1st December 1972, this originally belonged to a Radio Station collection. It comes complete with original Wings sleeve, Wings insert, Wings Fan Club page and Wings Fan Club comp slip.
These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
‘Hi Hi Hi’ became the second Wings single in the space of a year to be banned by the B.B.C. The reason given was that the lyrics were connected to drug use. Radio stations therefore flipped the single and gave their air-time to C Moon. This release therefore unintentionally became a double a-side. A rare issue in this format.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: 7YCE 21692-2 4 KT
Side 2: 7YCE 21693-2 5 KT
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD condition on the a-side and VERY GOOD- condition on the b-side. B—side has a heavy mark.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Sticker on front with catalogue number ’R 5973’ and sticker on the back with catalogue number and tracks running time.
