Electric Arguments is the third album by The Fireman, an experimental music duo consisting of Paul McCartney and producer Youth. The album was first announced 29 September 2008, on Paul McCartney's website, and was released on 24 November 2008 on the duo's website. It is the first Fireman release to be publicly acknowledged by McCartney, and the album cover features the names of both contributors.
The album, unlike the earlier Fireman albums, features prominent vocals. Each song on the album was recorded in one day, the album itself done in only thirteen days, spread over the course of a year. The duo borrowed the title "Electric Arguments" from the poem "Kansas City to St. Louis" by Allen Ginsberg. In Wired magazine, McCartney stated this was because "he's been looking at the beauty of word combinations rather than their meaning."
“We had a ball making this album, and it was a great departure because it seemed more like improv theatre. In the improv spirit, there are William Burroughs-type cut-ups in the lyrics. I came to "Sing the Changes," as well as all the other songs in the album, with absolutely no concept of what the melody or lyrics would be about. So it was like writing on the spot, which I think lent an electricity to the whole sound." Paul McCartney.
Electric Arguments was acclaimed by critics, cited as one of the best albums of 2008. Allmusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote, "There are more twists and turns, more textures, than on any other McCartney album in the last 20 years," awarding the album 4 and a half stars. Will Hermes of Rolling Stone called the album "the ex-Beatle's headiest music in years" giving it 4 stars.
Offered here for auction is the ORIGINAL AND ONLY very limited TIN box deluxe set. It is a beautiful collectors piece that all McCartney and Beatle collectors will cherish. As an investment it is exceptionally rare and hardly ever offered. This is my own item that has been played maybe once or twice and then carefully stored. All artwork and inserts are in immaculate mint condition. The tin box is not damaged and in great physical shape with just a few minute surface spots. All vinyl outer and inner sleeves are mint, as is the hessian CD sleeve. They are like the day it was issued. All the vinyl discs are immaculately clean as when they were first issued. No spindle marks at all. There are a couple of very small and very light scratches that may have originally occurred in the factory and don't effect playback. Otherwise it is all totally like new and in a high mint, immaculate and unplayed condition. Needless to say the mastering and sound quality is of audiophile standard and will not dissapoint!

RECORD GRADING:
ALL my records have been listened to, and are audibly and visually graded so that you can buy with confidence. The system I use is based on the US GOLDMINE system and is the most commonly used worldwide. Your order will include a grading sheet which will note anything of significance. I do try to honestly and conservatively grade my vinyl but please let me know if you disagree.
Still Sealed (SS): Record has never been opened. A record that has never been opened is assumed to be as new. However as it can't be listened to or graded there is no real certainty as to its condition.
Near Mint (NM): No surface noise. A nearly perfect record. There may be one or two small inaudible defects. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other sights of slight handling. An LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either.
Near Mint (NM-): No surface noise. A record that should play mint but has a few slight visible marks. The album will have as much luster as an NM, there just may be some scuffs from the sleeve or very light scratches that shouldn't be audible. An NM- album cover subjectively fits somewhere in between VG+ and NM.
Very Good Plus (VG+): Signs of wear but no significant surface noise. A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam-split. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise evident on playing, especially in soft passages, and during a song's intro and fade, but never overpowers the music. Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, just two or three of them.
Good (G): Significant surface noise, scratches that will produce noise, but will play without skipping. Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play though without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the subject.
Poor (P), or Fair (F): Won't play through without skipping or repeating. The record is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP jacket barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
