Paul McCartney & Wings : Venus And Mars 1U / 1U 1st UK Press In Shrink + Posters & Stickers 1975

This first pressing plays with stunning quality with no interference and all I detected were a small number of very minor static ticks.  There are no clicks, pops or underlying static and the clarity and depth of the audio is incredible!  This is certainly the finest example of this album that I have ever encountered and is a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing in my opinion.  The vinyl is also visually in superb condition.

The cover is still contained within the original shrink-wrap apart from the opening edges of course.  It has been so well preserved and has barely any wear hence my Near Mint grading.  It comes complete with the original posters and stickers and the inner sleeve is practically as new.  A stunning 'package'!

Visual description

The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a fine glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light I can only see a small number of ultra faint hairlines and they are certainly not easy to find!  The labels are very clean with only a small number of faint mottle spots but they can only be seen when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle.  I can see no spindle wear either.

Play grading

'Venus And Mars' plays with an incredible clarity of sound with not even a single dust tick let alone anything more and easily grades as Mint the playback is so clean and precise.

'Rock Show' continues this fine start and plays with phenomenal power and depth with no interference at all.  Once again I cannot overstate how well it plays and again grades as Mint without question.

'Love in Song' plays with a clarity that can only de described 'as new'.  From the quiet opening through every section it plays with exceptional clarity and warmth and no intrusion.  Another STUNNING Mint track.

The piano intro on 'You Gave Me The Answer' has only a couple of minor statics and from then on plays with impeccable quality and no background.  Let's say Mint-

'Magneto And Titanium Man' keeps up the standard with no intrusion at all.  No dust ticks, static ticks, clicks, pops or background static this is audio of the highest calibre.  Mint

'Letting Go' also plays 'as new' with no interference.  What you really notice here, apart from the clarity, is the sheer depth of the music.  The sonic 'landscape' could not be any stronger and it grades as Mint from start to finish.

The 'Venus And Mars - Reprise' is as good as the first!  From the very first groove the clarity is 10/10 and it continues in the same precise way.  A Mint start to S2.

'Spirits Of Ancient Egypt' again plays with remarkable clarity and depth and the only background is three minor static ticks on the fade out.  Mint-

'Medicine Jar' plays with great power and depth with... no intrusion.  Yet another Mint track!

'Call Me Back Again' is faultless from the first note to the last.  A powerful track and yet the sound is so clean and there is no distortion on the top end.  It is Mint including the very long fade out.

'Listen To What The Man Said' again pays testament to how well this vinyl has been preserved and plays with outstanding sonic quality with no sign of any interference.  Mint

The segue into 'Treat Her Gently - Lonely Old People' is perfect and it continues to play with a clarity that defies the age of the album.  I heard only a couple of barely audible dust ticks and Mint is still very much deserved.

The 'Crossroads' theme ends this stunning album with sublime clarity throughout.  Mint

The Gatefold, Posters / Stickers & Inner Sleeve

As stated the vast majority of the cover is still enclosed within the original shrink-wrap so It cannot be opened.  The only wear I can see is just a little rubbing on the top and bottom edges next to the right hand corners but it is minimal.  The opening edges are very clean with only the bare minimum of handling wear.  The spine remains strong and the shrink has not affected the shape and structure of the cover, it has not constricted it in any way.  Obviously the front and back cover are immaculate and it goes without saying that inside of the gatefold has not been seen since 1975!  The original sticker is still firmly attached to the shrink also.  This is a stunning example of this  al cover.

The two posters are in superb condition with no rips or tears and only minimal faint spotting on the reverse side.  The stickers look untouched and remain in Mint condition.  The original thick card inner sleeve is also super clean with no side splits and only a couple of tiny edge rubs.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
