Description

PAUL McNEILL Contemporary Folk  Mono Unboxed DECCA LK4699  Recorded with Davy Graham on second guitar the same year Folk Blues & Beyond was released. A very scarce album that has never been available since if I am right - which is a shame as it features the brilliant playing of Davy Graham. Davy plays second guitar on this record and it is interesting to hear what he was doing aside from his groundbreaking album of the same year. Record looks very clean when held in the light though shows spindle.  No marks of any note maybe one or two light ones.I have played some portions inbetween tracks and there is background and some noise that may been improved by a deep clean as the record looks very well kept.Maybe there is dirt from the last 40 odd years in the grooves that needs cleaning out. Didn't hear any distortion and the background lessens toward the middle and end of the side. The sleeve is  free of tears /rips/writing with only general wear from handling and storage with a miniscule bit of lifting  at top right edge.  Laminated cover with typical lifting around spine area (text all clear and readable) and  a few thumb marks on edge opening. Unlaminated back so some rubbing and marks. See pics. Ray Horricks sleeve notes reveal interesting information on this elusive folk singer. Appears he was a  good friend of Paul Simon who's songs are featured on this rare and exciting record from a time gone by.
