PAUL REVERE & THE RAIDERS
Featuring Mark Lindsay
“AQUI LLEGAN!”
(Here They Come!)
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To- Find original CBS Records very first High Fidelity MONO press released by CBS Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1965 by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas S.A. (Goluboff Records), catalog number CL 2307, with machine etched matrix numbers XLP110273-1E S (“S” with straight lines or a symbol) 3 (incomplete or a symbol) in Side 1 and ° XLP110272-1F I S (“S” with straight lines or a symbol) LC (“C” inverted) in Side 2, with traditional orange/black CBS Records labels of the period, with centered squared “CBS” logo. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“HERE THEY COME!” is the third album by Paul Revere & The Raiders, originally released in May 1965 in USA, and we didn’t have to wait much because the same year we got this album released here in Chile and, like usual in the period, with an UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle with two sheets of paper attached (only partially glued in the mouth edge) to that cardboard for front and back covers, so 3 sides are open faking a gatefold cover and kept all together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the US artwork, with the picture of the band on the grass, the only difference is that here in Chile the album title, at top edge, and tracklist, at bottom edge, are written in Spanish only (except song “Big Boy Pete”, which’s written in English only, and “Louie, Louie” and “Ooh Poo Pah Doo”, which don’t have translation), with CBS Records logo and catalog number at top left corner. Back cover is different, it has the album title written in Spanish only at top edge and the full tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English when applicable, with the name of the band in big size lettering, with name of the members of the band an short liner notes introducing the band to the Chilean market: “CBS is pleased to introduce you to this new group, -PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS- that with their electrifying and contagious rhythm have become a sensation in the United States, conquering the "teenagers" of the northern country”. In labels, the album title is written in Spanish only and the tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about the tax law applicable in Chile. If you know this album, then you could have already noticed that here in Chile we got this album with the original US Side 2, the studio recording, as Side 1 and the original US Side 1, the live recording, as Side 2. And we also got an error, the song “These Are Bad Times (For Me And My Baby)” was misspelled in both cover and label “BAD TIMES”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this album by Paul Revere & The Raiders, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER, with Spanish-written album and song titles, with UNIQUE ERROR and with sides INVERTED, a record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Pop/Garage Rock music of the 60’s and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of Paul Revere & The Raiders and Mark Lindsay!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition the front cover, with some wear in all edges, more evident in the mouth edge, corners and part of the top edge, almost impossible to avoid because the sheets of paper are bigger than cardboards, with some little rips, faint creases and some age browning and in VG+ or EX- condition the back cover, with some wear in all edges, some creases, evident age browning and faint blemishes, with some little rips. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, light hairlines and soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and regular light clicks and some occasional light pops, which could cause some distraction, but the sound keeps loud and clear from the beginning to the end, with most of the playtime in EX- or even EX condition. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE Chilean press, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER, with Spanish-written album and song titles and with UNIQUE ERROR, for sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but with a nice cover and a record with not the best look, BUT almost immaculate labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 59 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean press!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_______________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
