Paul Weller : Studio 150 A2 / B2 1st Press 2004 Limited Edition 1 of 2000
This very rare and collectable first pressing plays with stunning audio and with barely any interference.  Arguably you could say there is no interference because there is only a little static on a couple of S1 intros and a couple of minor ticks at the end of a fade out.  There are no clicks or pops anywhere.  The clarity and depth of the audio is so impressive and S2 in particular is absolutely stunning!  I thought it was very brave to attempt 'All Along The Watchtower' but Weller and co really pull it off in fine style, it's a superb version.  The vinyl is in great condition and with no spindle wear I do wonder if it has been played before.
The cover is in great condition with only minimal wear and the printed inner sleeve is perfect with zero wear.
This one and only pressing was released in 2004 on 180g heavyweight vinyl and on a limited run of 2,000 only.

Visual description
The vinyl is in great condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen with no arks or scratches.  Under a strong bright there are only a few faint superficial hairlines on S1 and even less on S2.  There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are super clean also.  The labels are in perfect order with no marking or spindle wear.
Play grading
The intro on 'If Only I Could Be Sure' has only minimal light static and then Weller's opening vocal is close to perfect with only a couple of minor statics.  It continues to play with exceptional clarity and warmth and the mid instrumental is a fine example of that.  This track plays with such depth and the strong bass sound is a big part of that.  The remainder has no intrusion - I will grade the intro as Ex but the rest is easily Mint-
The first part of the intro on 'Wishing On A Star' plays perfectly and the second quieter part has only the lightest of background static.  The opening vocal section has no background and it continues in the same precise way - the audio separation is superb, each note so clean and precise with zero interference.  The production is so good on this album and for a noughties vinyl the playback so far is very clean indeed.  The strings section at the end plays with great clarity also.  The vast majority of this track is Mint- with only the intro grading as Near Mint
'Don't Make Promises' has only a handful of minor statics on the intro and and a little static on the fade out - everything in between is perfect!  Near Mint
Weller's take on the 'The Bottle' is so strong, putting his own stamp on it, and from start to finish there is no intrusion at all.  Crystal clear audio and very powerful version with no distortion.  Superb!  Mint-
'Black Is The Colour' plays very clearly with no clicks or pops but there is a little static on the intro and first vocal.  The good news, it is quiet and in the background.  From then on it plays with wonderful clarity and warmth and barely any background.  The strings section plays beautifully and the final vocal is equally as clean, a superb emotive track.  The opening section is Ex+ and from then on Mint-
'Close To You' ends the side with genuine quality.  There is no intrusion on the audio, every section plays so clearly and if there is any inner groove distortion it is kept to an absolute minimum.  Mint-
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The acoustic intro on 'Early Morning Rain' plays with sublime clarity and Weller's opening vocal has only a handful of barely audible statics.  The clarity on this opening section is very impressive and it just gets better!  A relatively 'sparse' track the clarity of sound is STUNNING and Mint- is deserved in my opinion.
'One Way Road' plays with phenomenal audio from the get go.  A more recent cover it could not play any better as there is just no background of any kind.  Mint no need for a minus here.   'Hercules' keeps up the standard and plays with an 'as new' clarity and definition from the first note to the last.  Mint
The acoustic intro on 'Thinking Of You' plays perfectly and the opening vocal is just as clean and precise.  The first chorus is faultless and it continues to play with impeccable clarity and warmth.  An original take on this well known track is has to grade as Mint such is the quality.
For Weller to tackle 'All Along The Watchtower' is a brave thing because it is more associated with Hendrix than Dylan of course.  I wrote that before listening to it and after playing it I have to say I am very impressed!  It's a very strong version and sonically cannot be faulted.  The steady 'mellotron' sound definitely helps adding a kind of retro feel to it and the female backing is another good move.  The instrumental sections play with STUNNING quality and the vocals are strong and clear with no intrusion.  I have to say this is a stunning version and despite being by far the longest track on the album there is barely any background - I was just about to say Mint but there are two light ticks right at the end of the fade out so I will Mint- but wow what a version!
The classic Neil Young track 'Birds' plays with outstanding quality throughout and no interference.  The playback is very clean with only a minor amount of inner groove distortion.  Distortion doesn't seem like quite the right word as it is such a strong 'word' but yet it is so minimal here!  I am probably doing it a disservice by calling it Near Mint because it is after all the final track.  A superb version nonetheless.
The Cover & Picture Inner
The cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.  The edges and spine have no marking / rubbing and the corners are also in great condition.  The opening edge is near perfect with only a couple of minor rubs on the back edge.  The front cover is again so clean with only minor creasing in the top left corner and an even fainter crease line bottom right which you can only see when you hold the cover at a certain angle.  The back cover is unmarked but does have a little creasing near the bottom left corner, nothing major at all, and one tiny 'lift' on the far left edge of the top flipback.  The two flipbacks are actually in superb shape and remain perfectly attached to the cover.  A fine example overall.
The picture inner sleeve is in lovely condition with no side splits and no marking or creasing either.  Brand new in other words.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
