This record is a "must-have" for jazz historians due to the heavy-hitting personnel involved in these June 1928 New York sessions:
Bix Beiderbecke: Features a standout 24-bar cornet solo on the A-side. Bix's lyrical, bell-like tone is captured perfectly by the Columbia Viva-tonal process.
The Rhythm Boys (feat. Bing Crosby): The vocal chorus features a young, jazz-inflected Bing Crosby. This is Bing before he became the "King of Crooners," singing with a rhythmic drive influenced by his jazz peers.
The "All-Star" Band: Includes Frank Trumbauer (C-melody sax), Eddie Lang (guitar), and Bill Challis (arranger).

Shellac: Grade E. The disc retains its original high factory gloss. It has been incredibly well-preserved, showing no signs of the "grey" groove wear common on records of this age.
Labels: Excellent. The gold lettering is sharp against the dark blue background. Each side features the original Keith Prowse & Co. square royalty stamp.
Audio: These British Columbia pressings were renowned for their quiet surfaces and wide dynamic range. In this condition, the playback is crisp and punchy.

Shellac is a notoriously temperamental material that would rather shatter than bend. To ensure it arrives in its current Excellent state:
The disc is sandwiched between corrugated cardboard and wrapped in bubble wrap.
This is then placed inside a double-skin box filled with packing void to prevent movement and provide maximum protection.
