Original 1975 Octopus label STEREO pressing, cat#. OTP 0293, Italy.
Fantastic Italian Library LP very underrated 'till nowawayds and featuring some top tunes and absolutely KILLER DJ & Bboy samples. Music is by Pasquale Castiglione aka "Lino", man behind the masterpiece POPSOUND N.1 on Flirt Rec., arranged and directed by the cult composer Paolo Casa. At the bass is almost for sure Piero Montanari, Romano Mussolini's bassist and the man behind other several gems from the Flipper label group. Complete and delicious album from start to finish, with Exotica styled infectious percussions / Killer Fender Rhodes & Wah Wah guitar / dope Funky rhythms & drum Breaks / strung-out Funky bassline & flute solos. Superb collectible piece for Library Music lovers!
The record opens with "CLOUDS", a superb Experimental Lounge suite with Wah Wah effects and distortions, heavy bassline and superb Hip Hop tune with the drums killing it. Follows "3/4 WESTERN", weird Country Pop/Western swing like also other tracks on here. "CHASE" is the total masterpiece from the album also comped on several compilations with its Killer Funk, hot drum Breaks and terrific bassline, the best shot along with its brother "GAMES", dope Fender Rhodes Funk comped on SCOCTOPUS. Both these 2 tracks are very reminiscents of AMERICA GIOVANE LP series for their infectious percussions and the fabulous flute sessions, shocking Funky drumming and the electric piano. "RIDING" Spaghetti-Western styled tune, "SEA-SIDE" is a lovely Bossa Nova / Lounge. Experimental-Giallo vibes on "NIGHTMARE and cool Experimental Pop on "MODERN EXPRESSIONS" and LONELINESS". A complete LP!
