Blue Note's Tone Poet Series shines a reissue light on some of its many classic albums while also touching up the sound with new mastering. Duke Pearson's The Right Touch is one of those. The celebrated American pianist and arranger recorded it in 1967 at the legendary studio of Rudy Van Gelder. It is his tenth album in a prolific career and was produced by Francis Wolf with many top musicians in on the sessions, including none other than Freddie Hubbard on trumpet and flugelhorn, Jerry Dodgion on alto saxophone and flute and many more.
