Description
Absolutely beautiful copy of the original 1968 promo pressing of Peggy Lipton’s self-titled LP on Ode Z12-44006. The Mod Squad actress really was a musical talent, and this record was truly a great record, way better than the usual movie or TV star personality records that were so popular at that time. She wrote several of the songs herself, and they are actually quite lovely. Released on the same label as the Carole King records and featuring a number of songs by Carole King, as well as her minor hit version of Laura Nyro’s Stoney End. Backed up by some of the famed Wrecking Crew, such as Hal Blaine, Joe Osborn, Jim Gordon, and so on, as well as Marty Paich and the Blossoms. A real musical gem of a record. And this is a beautiful promo copy, with the “Columbia Records Radio Station Service - Not For Resale” sticker on the front, listing the songs and their timings. The disc is superbly clean, gorgeously near mint. It plays absolutely flawlessly and just stunningly. The cover has a bit of light wear, wjth some edge and corner rubbing, slight ringwear, and some signs of light use, but really nicely intact and quite gorgeous. Really a top, top promo copy, just about impossible to beat.
