PENTAGRAM's First Daze Here is a collection of the Washington DC area's early-to-mid 70s recordings. Formed in 1971 by good friends vocalist Bobby Liebling and drummer Geof O'Keefe — who actually began as the group's guitarist in their first few line-ups — they drew their influences from a wide variety of 60s and early 70s hard rock, garage and psychedelic bands such as Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Cream, Uriah Heep, The Groundhogs, The Gun, The Music Machine, Stray, Sir Lord Baltimore, Iron Butterfly, The Frost, Mountain, Dust, The Amboy Dukes, Wishbone Ash, Thin Lizzy and so on. The core line-up during 1971 to 1976 was Liebling on vocals, O'Keefe on drums, Vincent McAllister on guitar and Greg Mayne on bass. For a brief period around 1974, the group was joined by 2nd guitarist Randy Palmer, who had his own offshoot group BEDEMON (which also included Liebling and O'Keefe), and later also added another 2nd guitarist, Marty Iverson.
The item being offered here for auction is a still-sealed first pressing of the 2-LP set from 2002 on heavy 180 gram vinyl which came with a bonus 7" single containing a new "replication" mix of the band's first demo single, "Be Forewarned"/"Lazy Lady" which was issued for promotion while the group had briefly changed their name to Macabre. It's described as a "replication" as the master tapes for the actual 45 final mixes couldn't be located at the time of this release, and so O'Keefe, using the flat multi-track mix attempted to duplicate the 45's production sound as best as possible. These versions of these songs were not included on the CD release of First Daze Here and this first pressing remains the only place they were available. The album is currently out-of-print, and later editions in the 2000s didn't include the 45. The track listing for the two LPs is shown in one of the photos.
The LP will be well-packed with cardboard pads in a sturdy cardboard LP mailer. PLEASE NOTE: this item was received directly from Relapse Records at the time of release, and given that it is factory-sealed, I am not responsible for any defect issues or damage such as inner sleeve splits etc. since I can't see what's inside a sealed album. If you decide to open it ... you'll be the first to see it! Please message me with any questions, and note my 100% positive feedback rating. I am a one-person operation, not a store or company. I've been doing music mail-order for nearly forty years, and appreciate good service and hope to provide the same to you.

IMPORTANT: WINNER WILL RECEIVE AN INVOICE AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES WHICH WILL HAVE THE CORRECT SHIPPING COST. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS INVOICE! ALL DOMESTIC U.S. SHIPMENTS ARE SENT BY MEDIA MAIL WITH INSURANCE AND TRACKING. I WILL ONLY SEND CANADIAN AND INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS REGISTERED WITH SIGNATURE REQUIRED. THIS IS FOR MY PROTECTION AND PROOF THAT I DID SHIP THE ITEM. AS STATED ABOVE, THE PACKAGES WILL BE WELL-PACKED IN AN INCH-THICK MAILER WITH CARDBOARD PADS FOR ADDED PROTECTION.
PLEASE NOTE THE ADDED SHIPPING RATES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Domestic US: Media Mail including insurance and tracking - $8.
Canada: 1st Class with mandatory Registration - $29.
International: 1st Class with mandatory Registration - $37.
I previously chose to ship by Priority Mail in the US but there were too many issues with winning bidders not following the instructions and waiting for my invoice, and additionally there were after-closing debates about the costs. Personally I prefer things to get to the buyer quickly, but that can be expensive. If you WANT Priority Mail, send me a message with your zip code and I will determine what the cost would be. Also if you bid on and win multiple items I will combine the items to possibly reduce shipping. The Canadian and International overseas mandatory registration is to protect both myself and you. The registration fee for either is $13.65 and the rest is the shipping costs for a 1st Class Air package of this size and weight.
