PEPPINO DI CAPRI

Y SUS ROCKERS

(E I Suoi Rockers)

(Both Songs Sung In Italian)

SIDE A:     BABY

                  (Be My Baby)

SIDE B:     ROBERTA

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Odeon Records very first High Fidelity Mono press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1964 by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number MSOD 8424, with machine etched matrix numbers VDM 913 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side A and VDMTC-A 4020 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side B, with traditional green/silver Odeon Records labels, with big “Odeon” at top and 4-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Peppino Di Capri and Italian Pop/Rock music!!!

Baby” and “Roberta” were originally released as singles in Italy in 1963 and we had to wait until 1964 to see these songs by Peppino Di Capri released in Chile but as you can see we got both songs in the same single and as far as I know this single with both songs was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE. Song titles are written in English only the Side A and the name “Roberta” doesn’t need translation, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses, rights society, play time of each song and the cash price, “E° 3,00”, printed in Side A. It’s interesting to notice that name of the band is written in Spanish only and, in case you don’t know the song, “Baby” is an Italian-sung version of the classic hit by The Ronettes “Be My Baby”!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE PRESS of this single by Peppino Di Capri, with Spanish-written song titles and the Italian version of The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby”, a record almost never seen in this very first Chilean press and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. Record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, light hairlines and very soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in great EX- or EX condition both sides, clear and clean, with only some spindle hole wear, a very faint discoloration in the rim text in Side A and the name of some past owner in both sides. The sound is in strong EX or even EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with some minimal soft crackles and some occasional and barely audible light clicks here and there, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side A closer to EX+ and Side B closer to EX. Overall, a MEGARARE record with GREEN ODEON RECORDS LABELS and Spanish-written song titles, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds and audiophiles, but still in a great condition, with still a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after about 57 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this Chilean single almost never seen!!! And keep in mind this single with these songs was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_____________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
