Africa's Blood was the first record Lee "Scratch" Perry released under his own name way back in 1971. That said, most of the tracks have been produced with his go to band The Upsetters, and while their dub vibes are all present and correct, there is also a looming influence of American r&b sounds throughout the record. Perry's signature reggae sounds good as ever and means the record is a fine window into the cross-genre fusions that were going on in Jamaica at the time. This is a mega limited record presser's don orange wax which makes it all the more vital.
