The American blackened death metal icons PESSIMIST released their 2nd studio full lenght album ''Blood For The Gods'' in 1999 and thus put another dark work on the table almost 2 years after their debut ''Cult Of The Initiated''. The 9 tracks were the logical consequence of hard work with the band both in the studio and on the live front. PESSIMIST were already quite well known in the States for their unique, brutal and technical Black/Death Metal with old school Thrash influences & their powerful live shows, as well as the dark, evil sound. So ''Blood For The Gods'' is brutal & technical in equal measure. The production is also good & the album has a few eye-catching solos, so it has everything you would expect from a quality death metal album. However, the band's real strength lies mainly in their focus on quality songwriting and their subtle melodic talent, their overall natural dexterity in the genre. Qualities that are very difficult to describe adequately in a lyric. So if you don't know the Americans yet, you now have the opportunity to change this after a long time. After more than 20 years, they are finally available as an LP version. The first edition in classic black vinyl with printed inner sleeve is limited to only 300 copies. Comes in gatefold cover & with KREATOR cover version, as well as a demo song as bonus tracks!
