Several things are clear , after listening to this Lp! Paul McCartney was a great bassist at a very early age. Pete Best was a great Rock Drummer! The Mersey Beat of the British Invasion was born in 1960 at the CASBAH and CAVERN CLUB in Hamburg. It did not simply grow out of Skiffel Music as reported. Many of these songs ring so true as Early Beatle Songs , even though the vocals are either being handled by Stu or Pete mostly and the three Beatles are back=up vocals and raucous musicians. The harmony and urgency The Beatles is all here! You're looking at the GENESIS of Liverpool Rock right here! And Very well recorded. Likely a makeshift studio, given their means at the time , but I would guess that the actual recording engineer was a professional. The sound is amazing , especially for an up and coming Club Band, which is what they were before any recording contracts. SAVAGE BM71 MONO (BLUE CIRCLE LABEL) 1971 press.
