CREAM lyricist Pete Brown had released 2 brilliant, highly influential
conceptual solo LP's in '69 & 70 that are largely forgotten. Most people know him for his power trio period. Subsequently he'd ventured deep into Prog Rock waters thus remaining one of the true pioneers of the genre. It's about time he's credited for his addition. The first one - 'Pete Brown & His Battered Ornaments' shares some common ground with the initial King Crimson platter, f. e. the squeaky Sax, well known to R. Fripp followers. It also features the jazzy, spoken word, mocking, 12 min piece - "The Politician" which still sounds quite relevant.

It seems Brown'd been a huge influence on Peter Hammill's solo output. The way he'd phrased his epic sounding voice it all comes from Brown. It might come as a disappointment to VDGG & solo Hammill fans but it's obvious. Listen to how's the line 'all trains that cry in the night' sound in "Country Morning", on 1970 - 'Things May Come & Things May Go ...' and you'll get my point. The title also reveals an absolute truth, it's hard to argue with. After experiencing the records it becomes much more clear that 3/4 of Cream, except for Clapton, have gone Progressive, something most Blues freaks always try to disregard!(Review from: headheritage.co.uk)

VERY RARE ORIGINAL PRE-EMI  LP, with a FANTASTIC GATEFOLD Picture Sleeve with stunning sleeve art and colours.  Also retains its original Harvest advertising inner sleeve with famous classic obscure albums like Bakerloo, Forest etc.This is among the three hardest to find Harvest albums.

THE VINYL PLAYS SUPERBLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES DESPITE A FEW HAIRLINES. 

THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CLEARLY AND CRISPLY.  NEEDLESS TO SAY, NO STICKS OR JUMPS!

     The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. Only about 800-1200 were ever pressed up. This is an absolutely gorgeous super heavy slab of early quality vinyl which is in great  condition with only a few very wispy hairlines!! This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality innovative psych/prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find.

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days. This is an album that is on many prog collectors wish lists and it is only the second time I have ever come across it as a first press. Scarce??? I surely think so!!!

 Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. Only light static at times, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is fantastic. Inspected under an intense light source and angled.

Vinyl:  EX.   I have played this in FULL twice over> fantastic audio, a joy to listen to!! This is the true official 1st stereo press. I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. A very enjoyable album indeed taking me back to a different era. I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. All that I could detect were two low level pops early on on side 1.  A small name on the label side 2. Of course NO jumps/skips etc.

Gatefold Sleeve:  EX.  A lovely gatefold sleeve. A couple of minute underlaminate creases near the spine. The colours are still as first published with a full lustre and depth. The inner gatefold is beautiful and untouched. A small area of corner wear to the top. The spine is 100% and so are the edges. NO writing. It will be nearly impossible to improve on this.
