This masterful album features jazz greats like Ben Webster, Hot Lips Page, Budd Johnson, Albert Nicholas, J.C. Higginbotham and includes vocals by ETTA JAMES!
"RVG" is found in the deadwax since Rudy Van Gelder did the mastering on this masterpiece.
Johnson's Piano solos are all over and he takes on many jazz blues styles.
Please dont confuse this definite original 1st pressing with quite a few look a like albums with different catalogue numbers etc
VINYL CONDITION: NM- (side 1)   Strong VG++ (side 2) LABELS: NM-  Beautiful rich maroon with silver print...side shsows some kind of black ink spot (see pic) but the rest opf the label is gorgeous COVER: Probably VG+ but maybe VG++ ...the front cover (no splits, no ringwear) is very nice except for a bit of perimeter age discoloration   the back cover drops down due to some stains and general discoloration. PLAY TESTED: GREAT GREAT SOLOS BY EVERYBODY APPEAR and this record plays with barely any surface crackle.
All in all,  you should be quite entertained by the Savoy Rudy Van Gelder mastering sound quality displayed here. ENJOY!
