Description

"Pete Kelly's Blues" Radio Show Music & Bridges Transcription Disc recorded by The National Broadcasting Company NBC.  Disc is 16 inches, 33 1/3 rpm, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum.  This disc was recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general public, very rare!

This is a really interesting disc, containing music used in the 1951 radio program "Pete Kelly's Blues"

The music on this disc is most likely performed by:

Dick Cathcart — cornet, Matty Matlock — clarinet, Elmer Schneider — trombone, Bill Newman — guitar, Nick Fatool — drums, Meredith Howard – vocal on last track

Side one contains music from the show, there are four different, short songs, times are 1:22, 1:26, 1:14 and 1:48.  There is also a shorter 12 second example of the 2nd song, possibly a bad take?

Side two contains 3 different musical bridges with times of 0:17, 1:30 and 1:15.  The last track is approximately 4 minutes and features a female vocal singing "Kansas City Blues" - she sings the first verse of "Kansas City Blues" - "I've Got Those Kansas City Blues Since My Man Has Gone Away" and then continues the song with "do-doo-do" etc., and humming for the rest of the song.  This song is recorded at a lower volume and has lower fidelity.

Disc is in Excellent condition, beautiful disc!  With exception to the last song that is mentioned above, disc has EX+ to Near Mint- Sound

Please note that due to their size, most standard turntables cannot play 16 inch transcription discs.  If requested, I can make a CD copy of the disc for the buyer only
