Description

Up for auction is a rare copy of the Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth classic album "The Main Ingredient" released on Elektra Records (61661) in 1994.  This is a guaranteed, original first pressing, not a cheap reissue like most for sale on eBay.  This is the real deal.  Includes two vinyl records and rare original insert with track listing and liner notes.
Cover is in really clean condition, with very few signs of previous use or wear.  A couple very minor bumps to a couple corners.  Small crease in upper left corner.  Seams are strong and intact, no splits, no ring wear.  Very nice.  Grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
The vinyl is also in very nice condition.  Faces are nice and shiny, retaining their original luster.  Faces do have some very minor and superficial marks here and there, a few faint hairlines from taking the vinyl in and out of the paper inner sleeves.  No deep scratches that can be felt or should affect the quality of the playback.  Labels have gold marker inscriptions on them as you can see in the photos.  The gold marker does go into the run-out grooves, but does not intrude on the actual music grooves.  They do not affect the quality of the playback at all.  I've play tested this record, and it generally sounds excellent, very clean, rich sound, though not audiophile perfect.  A great recording and production, a classic.  Grade the vinyl EX- (Excellent Minus)/VG+ (Very Good Plus).
